Prenatal Massage

Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body experiences great physical and emotional changes.  Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, prenatal massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. 

The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.

Prenatal Massage is always performed in the side-lying position, and only 2nd or 3rd trimester, during a healthy pregnancy.  A written doctors consent is requested for multiple pregnancies or other related concerns or conditions which dictate specific modifications by your massage therapist.  There are doctor consent forms if needed. Pregnancy can be divided into weeks and sometimes days. 
A pregnancy that is “36 and 3/7 weeks” means “36 weeks and 3 days of pregnancy.” 
The 40 weeks of pregnancy often are grouped into three trimesters. 
Each trimester lasts about 12–13 weeks (or about 3 months) :

• First trimester: 0 weeks–13 and 6/7 weeks (Months 1–3)
• Second trimester: 14 and 0/7 weeks–27 and 6/7 weeks (Months 4 –7)
• Third trimester: 28 and 0/7 weeks– 40 and 6/7 weeks (Months 7–9)
